EVERYONE'S ENVIRONMENT PROJECT
Background
In 2012 the Ecovillage Land Management Group, sponsored by the Gold Coast Catchment Association was gifted a grant from the Queensland Government, Department of Environment and Heritage Protection of $53,000 to undertake the ecological restoration of the Creek Ecohamlet Swale system at the Ecovillage in the Currumbin Valley.
Over the next 18 months 17,000 trees and shrubs will be planted and established aimed at restoring a wildlife corridor and returning the land back to its former beauty.
The grant will also be used to purchase much needed equipment to support the project.
